Revenge is a dish best served cloned. Twitpic founder Noah Everett Heello unveiled, its role in the copy function of Twitter. The decision comes just a day after Twitter completed deployment of its photo-sharing service - Twitpic a direct competitor.
Heello looks and acts like Twitter, in almost every way. Instead of Twitter, users send "pings" to his followers. Retweeting Instead, users "echo" other messages. And rather than follow friends "listen" to his friends. The only real difference is that updates appear in the stream of a user in real time, which is quite annoying if you want to click something on Twitter from a friend.
And if that were not enough, Heello account the integration of Twitter and Facebook, so that their messages Heello can still go to your social networks. It also includes a real-time channel of all public activity, which currently contains a number of fake accounts claiming to be the CNN, Tumblr and Mark Zuckerberg.
The clone looks more like a publicity stunt for a real company. Everett Twitter surprised with the release of a feature that would compete directly with your company, and this may be recovery. However, Everett said that Heello VentureBeat video support soon, arrivals, the integration of SMS, mobile and "Channels" feature that works as lists of Twitter.
Much as we love new social media services Mashable, we're not sure what to do with Heello. If Everett was looking for some attention, well, mission accomplished. However, the service will have a difficult time gaining ground on Twitter and its 200 million registered users, without any truly innovative features.
On the other hand, if there is a skill that business is the ability to load forward with blind optimism, even when the numbers are against him.

Walmart MP3 Downloads, retail competitor iTunes 7 years old, turn off at the end of the month.
The company plans to silence the site on August 29, according to The New York Times. Once seen as a serious threat to iTunes, online music store ever Walmart made tremendous strides against Apple, despite deep discount. Pricing at the store for the track was $ 0.88, less than Apple for $ 0.11.
Walmart store resumes in 2008, making great achievements in $ 0.74 cents per song and other songs for $ 0.94, plus a free download of the week. The store includes more than 3 million songs containing all the major labels. There were other benefits as a free MP3 each CD purchased in store or online. But nothing, apparently, could tempt Apple users far enough to make it worthwhile for the Bentonville giant.

Twitter Rolls Out Photo Sharing to All Users
Twitter photo sharing and upload service is now available to all users, Twitter has confirmed.
The feature, which made its debut in early June, allows users to add images to your tweets. Now, users will find a camera icon at the bottom of the "What's happening?" Twitter.com box. Clicking it will allow users to select an image to upload, then you can preview before sending into the world. Tweets that contain photos include a link to pic.twitter.com, along with a thumbnail attached.
The function is being implemented prior to the launch of Apple iOS 5. New Apple's mobile operating system has a prominent Twitter integration, so it is essentially the default network for users of social IOS. Users can share photos via Twitter iOS 5. Twitter is not saying when moving load of photos will be available in the Android applications and IOS, but we suspect that functionality is coming soon.
Twitter photo sharing service is powered by Photobucket, which provides all the hosting pictures uploaded by users.
Photo service Twitter basically negates the usefulness of the photo-sharing services like TwitPic. Twitter has been criticized for competing with third-party services built on its platform. Developers do not know if Twitter suddenly begin to compete with their products, an issue that has created a cloud of uncertainty over the Twitter ecosystem.

Speech Recognition Interface Uncovered in iOS 5
5 IOS Apple iPhone, the iPhone and the iPod is the way, now that the beta software is available to developers IOS5, the tracks of a partially hidden feature was discovered: the Nuance speech recognition is Rumor has it that perfectly integrated in IOS 5.
Although the next voice recognition features that are not yet in operation in the IOS 5 beta, parts of it are visible in the interface. As you can see from the chart above, 9to5 Mac points the microphone icon, placed next to the spacebar on your keyboard IOS is used throughout the operating system. When a user touches the microphone icon, it opens the voice recognition interface to see the right of the graph above.
So far, it seems that the voice recognition capability is only integrated into the iPhone and iPod Touch, but 9to5 Mac says it's not too late for that also appears in the version of IOS iPad 5 at the time they leave the market.
Not surprisingly, Apple is trying to keep secret the existence of the new features. For the integration of Nuance speech recognition, the secret probably has something to do with incomplete negotiations between Apple and Nuance, the company behind the voice recognition engine of the Dragon for Mac and PC favorably reviewed the last month.
While last year Apple bought speech recognition Siri implementation capacity, according to MacRumors, Apple is still in negotiations with Nuance, which also has the voice recognition technology behind Siri and many other applications of IOS.
We spoke with officials from Nuance couple of weeks, and even hinted at in the negotiations with Apple's share of the Nuance speech recognition engine everywhere, they were not talking details yet.
In my opinion, Nuance has consistently improved the accuracy of voice recognition engine, and if able to facilitate accurate voice recognition along IOS interface, which significantly improve all IOS devices.

International Beer day on Social Media
That’s right beer lovers, August 5 will now and forevermore be known as International Beer Day. If you thought all your hops loving had to take place offline, think again. International Beer Day started in 2007 when Jesse Avshalomov persuaded his local bar to celebrate. The following year, the site’s celebratory mission had spread to England and South Africa. The site now encourages beer lovers to plan their own events or join a group. We’ve decided to celebrate responsibly as well — at least during work hours — by compiling the best web apps for beer lovers. Some allow you to check in at bars and post beer brags to your friends. Others host educational forums and home brewing tips for the serious ale aficionado. All in all, these apps
provide great opportunities to hone your beer knowledge and celebrate the day properly.
According to these sites, it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere.
1. Untappd

QR Codes on Oxfam Clothes Reveal Celebrities
Oxfam added a digital twist to one of its stores in London earlier this year — one to make high-end fashion stores envious. Take a smartphone picture of the QR codes attached to the tags on Oxfam’s items, and you’ll see videos of celebrities telling the stories behind their former pieces that were on sale. The store, called the Oxfam Curiosity Shop, was a pop-up shop this past spring within London’s Selfridges department store. It garnered all manner of celebrity clothing donations and some hand-picked vintage styles.
Proceeds from the sales go toward supporting Oxfam‘s charitable efforts. Big-name celebrities including Annie Lennox, Colin Firth, Helen Mirren and Kate Moss, donated pretty impressive clothing.
The shop paired with tech company Tales of Things to attach QR codes to every item. Potential buyers could scan the codes with their phones or with an RFID reader in the store. After scanning, a short video launched of a star explaining what the article of clothing means to them or where the money will go.
For example, scanning a code on a dress donated by Annie Lennox reveals that she wore it to Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday party.

Free Tools for Google+ Hangouts
Google + venues are proving to be one of the most popular new social network, but no built-in option to record.
Until Google adds functionality such, we found five solutions to help you record your next Hangout - free. Although I strongly suggest the pros + G to invest in specialist software, our solutions are sufficient for meeting places for consumers to capture and provide easy options to share as well.
Check out the gallery of our five tips to the test - which vary from quick and easy browser-based options for more advanced software downloads - and we will know in the comments alternative media have recorded their meeting places.
1. ScreenCastle
A very easy to use option ScreenCastle gives the ability to record full screen or resize the register of the dimensions in pixels. Unlimited service, ScreenCastle record from the time they hit record until you are ready to stop. You then have to upload the recording site.
There are several options open for you to share - a direct link to watch the video, an embed code to put in place, and a direct link to the FLV file. ScreenCastle also automatically generates an image preview of images - very handy.
2. Pixetell
Once downloaded, Pixetell is in the top center of the screen as a small black icon. When you're ready to record, just hover over the icon and select "registration screen. "It will automatically select the window that opened later, but you can adjust this by clicking on another window, or change the size of the manhole.
While in record mode screen, Pixetell adds a menu bar and from the screen, which lets you pause, stop, etc. Once the recording is reduced to a small timer, unobstrusive. When you stop recording, the player window opens Pixetell.
You can then review the clip, and explore actions and export options. Pixetell offers upload directly to YouTube. So far this export, you can grab the FLV format, AVI, MOV, WMV and OGV. Although it is a fantastic tool, screen recording is just a string in the bow Pixetell - we recommend a look.
3. Screenr
Screenr is smooth, soft and social development. There is one - which only allows you to record up to five minutes. The recording is based on the browser and instant and you can change the size of the recording window to match.
Once your five minutes, you can add a description to your clip, then sign into Screenr through one of their accounts of social media to build-in the exchange of Facebook and Twitter, the option of posting on YouTube to generate an embed code or URL to share Screenr directly. As far as downloads go, you can save the MP4 file below to your computer.
Ingenious tools include the ability to subscribe to a user's feed RSS Screenr or add a bookmarklet to your toolbar Screenr quick start for recording. Pro Accounts range from $ 19 to $ 289, but even the most expensive option still limits recordings to 15 minutes.
4. BB FlashBack Express
Blueberry Software FlashBack Express is a free download for Windows users. Although the program seems a bit dated, certainly does the job.
It consists of two parts - the recorder and player. The recorder opens in a window familiar look and gives you the option to record the full screen, an area within a box to crawl, or simply a browser window (which is especially useful for places of assembly). Once you've recorded the clip, you can view the player. You can find the basic editing options of the hand, as the ability to upload directly to YouTube or to export the video as Flash (SWF or FLV in both), or AVI.
The best part about FlashBack Express is no recording time limit that is assigned by the free disk space. Standard and Pro Editions are also available for £ 55 (approx. $ 90) and £ 124 (approx. $ 200).
5. Screencast-O-Matic
A browser-based option, Screencast-O-Matic is easy to use and is tried, tested and recommended. Once you've reached the "start recording", you can resize the window to fit your Hangout - just press the red record button and then click "Done" when finished.
Then you can download the clip, and upload to the site or YouTube SOM. Video download options include MP4, FLV (Flash) or AVI. The free version limits recordings to 15 minutes. The recordings have a logo Screencast-O-Matic at the bottom right of the video. If you want to lose the logo can be upgraded to Pro for only $ 12 a year, which also offers advanced editing options. It also means that the recording time is limited only by the local disk.

“Minus” Lets You Share Photos, Music & Files
Name: Minus
Quick Step: Less is a simple and easy to share files across devices universal.
Idea: bulk file sharing - up to 100 files in a single gallery - with a tiny URL.
The exchange activity via web or mobile content - whether photos, music, videos, files or documents - is only going to increase over time. Such is the belief Minus, a New York-based startup that file sharing is expected to serve the needs of wider exchange of Internet and mobile users with universal access tool.
Less can use to upload files of any type, simply by dragging and dropping from the desktop to the browser. The service makes it easy to share files and galleries with a short URL, embed them in other parts of the site or posting on social sites.
Less new community also has elements so that you can find and follow other users, and in collaboration with other users edit galleries. Co-founders John Xie and Carl Hu says he is looking to add more community-focused devices.
More importantly, Minus, says Xie and Hu, is intended to be universal. And it's universal. The implementation has desktop applications for Windows, Mac and Ubuntu, mobile applications for Android, iPhone and Windows 7 Phone, browser extensions, Chrome and Firefox, Chrome web application, and even an API for integrating development.
"Less We started because we wanted to address the issue of file sharing and photo sharing, and to be simple and easy for people to do it," says Xie. "Many of the services out there get super complicated ... we wanted to run and improve these characteristics. The power of the application is making it simple and minimal to users. "
Early users seem to be attracted by spontaneously sharing service, the report of the co-founders. The launching, soft-launched in October 2010, has attracted 500,000 active users and sees more than 50 million page views per day.
Less is, for now, for free and no restrictions - the only exception is a file size limitation of 200 MB. The launch has just closed a seed round of $ 1 million of funding from IDG Capital Partners, which will allow you to remain free until he finds a business model.

Mistakes To Avoid in Your QR Code Marketing
Consumers from QR codes are hitting hard this summer of American society. Despite the idea that a rising tide lifts all boats, many well-intentioned sellers are crippling their campaigns with simple errors. This is a big reason why QR codes still have a bad reputation for some people. QR codes themselves are fundamentally good or bad, are only a means to an end: a mechanism for distributing offline to online. This is what is beyond the code that usually determines whether the experience will delight or disappoint. Unfortunately, many traders of the early adopters are not fully versed in best practices and optimal use cases. Adventurer who is the consumer suffers from growing pains.
Mistake 1: No Test Code
Law of common sense? Until it is able to read a QR code by looking at it, you should always test trials with a variety of smart phones and scanning applications before releasing a campaign.
This is the easiest way to detect problems scanning. For example, placement of small (less than one inch) will often be too dense to consider whether a URL is encoded longer, but goo.gl bit.ly or to automatically generate a short URL QR code is an easy solution .
Since QR codes according to an Mistake correction rate of 30%, there is flexibility to make creative adjustments. However, if the designer accidentally went too far, the screening test is an easy way to be the hero of the office that day.
For example, the picture above is taken from "15 beautiful and creative QR codes. "Although visually interesting, I'm pretty sure this is not scanable.
Mistake 2: Getting Too Fancy text
If your goal is to get people to a mobile Web experience, you should only ever a short URL code. It does not include any text, as many barcode scanners (including gold standards ShopSavvy) is not unravel the link. If you are expecting a user to copy / paste into a mobile device, do not bet on it.
Consider the QR code as a physical hyperlink all barcode scanners should be able to immediately "click". If the QR code requires the user to do much more than a point and exploration to reach the desired content, it probably is doing wrong.
Take the image above. I love the Olsen twins as much as anyone, but these results QR codes very problematic in string + combo link. No extra: The site always appears invalid security certificate Mistakes.
Mistake 3: Serving Non-Mobile Pages
Your explores QR code successfully, but you pointed out that the user to a standard desktop web site, where 99.9% of QR codes are scanned by a mobile device. No.
Familiar with HTML5 to give your mobile web application feel native application. You can hire a developer to build your mobile site or use a non-technical modular CMS (content management system) as Paperlinks if it suits the objectives of your campaign.
The heart of this QR code Coca-Cola is in the right place (the program MyCokeRewards), but the result mobile website is almost impossible to navigate.
Mistake 4: Put the QR codes, where no data signal
Where your ad is as important as how to implement it.
Recent QR code Tesco "supermarket" on the subway in Korea worked very well, because these platforms are Wi-Fi. This is not the case in the U.S. The placement of QR codes in places without Internet access is a safe way for your audience discomfort. Make sure you know which ads are, and if possible, conduct tests to ensure they are visible and continue to operate.
For example, QR code Red Bull last season was in the subway in New York, so I have no idea what it does.
Mistake 5: do not offer enough value
This point is very subjective, but also probably the most important. The proper mindset is to reward users to scan the QR code. This "reward", however, will change depending on what you're trying to promote.
Try to avoid redundancy (a digital copy of your steering wheel), irrelevance or clumsiness (company management of the street). Take the image above. U.S. Marine Corps. QR Code promises a great experience, but leads to a wallpaper download and a commercial.
When combined with a clearly articulated call to action near QR code, we found most attractive campaigns tend to offer one or more of the following:
Exclusive videos and photos Multimedia
Exclusive access or time-sensitive
Or booty free downloads
"Instant Win" contest
Special offers, coupons and gifts
"Secret" information
Deep integration with social networks to enable viral loops

AOL Launches Editions
AOL has released 'issue', a news reading application for the iPad social, owners of furniture device with another way to get your dose of news. As precursors and Zite Flipboard, Ediciones data strip their social networks (in this case, Facebook and Twitter) to help deliver a personalized news service in a magazine-style format. As with Zite, users can improve performance simply by reading, the application will learn what the issues and sources of readers tend to gravitate towards. You can teach the application by identifying the sources they like and dislike, and keywords that are and are not interested in, both in the configuration panel and when they wake up individual items.
The items are rendered in a browser application, which means that all the original ads and the format is shown - and it often takes a while to load. (It seems that AOL noted earlier misstep Zite in this department.) Readers can share articles via Facebook, Twitter and email, and bookmark stories for later reading.
This is pretty standard. Also, several steps behind their competitors. Flipboard, for example, allows users to pull the feeding of several additional social networks - including LinkedIn, Instagram in your RSS reader. It also allows users to search through all items in the application.
But there's more. AOL Editions in other applications improved social news reading, and playing habits of traditional newspaper readers and readers of IPAD.
On the one hand, provides a more holistic approach, organized source of news. Instead of just throwing my interests, which leaves me with a mixture of media, technology, fashion news and little else, to pass through the Top News section to collect the headlines of major in all sections of the last 24 hours.
Similarly, you can visit the local news section to get an idea of what is happening in my neighborhood. That part is a welcome supplement because I, like many others, no longer subscribe to a local newspaper.

IE Users Have Lower IQ Than Users of Other Web Browsers
A recent study of intelligence links test results with the use of browsers - and the results are not very good for users of Internet Explorer from Microsoft, especially in its earlier versions.
The study, entitled "Intelligence Quotient (IQ) and use the browser" by the Canadian company AptiQuant, compiled results of IQ tests to 101,326 people over the age of 16 years and divided into groups based on the browser you use .
The results are fascinating. Users of Internet Explorer 6 has an average IQ of just over 80, users of Firefox and Chrome is much better, with average IQ scores of about 110, while users of Opera and Camino have an IQ average of over 120. It is also interesting to note that the average IQ scores of IE6 users were significantly higher in 2006, and IQ scores improve with new versions of IE.
Internet Explorer 6 has long been a thorn in the side of developers who hated him for not complying with Web standards, as users struggled with security flaws, many. This new study is likely to persuade more fun of the old (but sometimes found on older computers) and a service to its users, but you may not tell us much about the browser - it is unwilling to upgrade to a new version of software.
The study concludes that "individuals at the bottom of the IQ scale tend to resist change / update your browser. "It makes sense that users with higher IQs are more likely to experience, choose a different software version or variant (notice that IE users with a chrome frame score high on IQ tests) or listen to upgrade suggestions and safety tips.
In March, Microsoft began a campaign to get users to stop using Internet Explorer 6. But do take into account the fact that many IE6 users tend to have lower average IQ? Perhaps that is the key to finally get rid of web browser in the world's most hated.
"People at the bottom of the IQ scale tend to resist change / update your browser. ... Now we have a statistical model in the continuous use of incompatible browsers, the better you can take steps to eradicate this nuisance, "the study concludes.
