Mobile payments are the safest solution for online transactions

Electronic commerce has made its way into everyday life and established himself as a multibillion dollar industry. The convenience of shopping online without leaving home is unparalleled. But of course, there is a downside. When you buy something online, you must provide the data to complete the transaction. Normally this would be your name, address and credit card or bank account details. That is fine and good, provided that such information is only available to the respective merchant. However, the Internet has taught an important lesson: Whenever data is exchanged or stored, it is possible that third parties are committed.

Convenience and Safety

Mobile payments require buyers to provide the minimum amount of data. Mobile payments are based on providing consumers with a telephone number to complete a transaction - no need to give a name, address or other sensitive data. Hence, removing most of the risks associated with identity theft. Transactions are carried out via text message and appear on the consumer's telephone bill.

In fact, mobile payments are a method even more effective when it comes to microtransactions (small loads, typically less than $ 10). Why consumers the risk of compromising personal data for a small operation, if there is a more convenient way to pay that does not require identifying information and credit card numbers? Mobile payments that consumers can buy with confidence even in sites where security can be a cause for concern.

Mobile data is not attractive to hackers

Due to the lack of exploitable data, mobile service providers and payment systems are rarely targeted by hackers. Hackers do not bother trying to break open databases provide only mobile phone numbers. phone number is found essentially anonymous data as it is much harder to connect a number to a name, address and even bank account.

Even if a hacker decides to try his luck in a database, he or she will realize that they are so well kept as any other database. If a hacker to access the risk of identity theft continues to be marginal. Mobile payments providers simply do not have the data of both consumers. And the little information we have is transmitted to the respective companies for further processing. Therefore mobile payments represent the lowest risk of security for all parties.

Consumers pay much more attention to security features in those days. By eliminating most of the risk associated with a security breach, consumers are more confident in buying products online via mobile. This results finally in sales figures over the merchants. Most people know their phone numbers from memory instead of your credit card or bank account numbers, which have to be consulted every time and went into a long procurement process.

Authorization

Finally, mobile payments help reduce the risk by requiring authorization for each transaction. Each time you make a mobile payment, must submit an authorization - access to the phone itself to confirm the purchase. Shopping through credit cards can be done easily by hackers, but they do not possess the physical card.

Use Social Media for Recruiting

Finding the right candidate for a job is like finding a new apartment: timing, finances and quality all have to align just right. And somehow, the pool of options always seems to feel both prohibitively large and prohibitively limited at the same time.

So, in both types of searches, online tools have become invaluable. But while tweeting out a call for a good real estate agent is fairly straightforward, using social media for recruiting has nuances that, if overlooked, can render the process far less useful. Here are a few key pointers from experts in the field to remember when getting started.

1. Early Start

Twitter Just a link to a job offer could get some viable candidates, but for sure it really is reaching its target audience is important to cultivate your personality as an employer from the beginning. "Recruiting is seeking social commitment and have conversations with people before you even think of you as an employer," says Bruce Morton, director of marketing for Allegis Group Services, a company that provides human resource consulting. Morton also suggests that recruiters can "learn a lot from the consumer industry" in terms of marketing. In this analogy, your business is your brand, and the work available is one of the many products you offer. Keep this in mind when growing a social media presence for the brand that ultimately will include job postings.

2. Know your audience

These days, rare is the exclusion that has prevented the creation of a profile on Facebook. But just because the potential candidates have a presence in a particular network does not mean that the site is suitable for use as targets. Debbie Fischer, human resources manager for the Campbell Mithun advertising agency, found great success using Twitter as a recruiting tool for summer interns. But he warned that "we must consider what types of roles they are recruiting for," because while college students can be open about their job search, more experienced nurses do not feel comfortable sharing publicly that it is considering a change career. For the types of roles, Morton says that LinkedIn can be a good place to start, because, as he says, "what LinkedIn has done is given people permission to put your resume online," without fear of repercussions current employers.

3. Get Creative

When making the foray into the social contract, they are entering an area where both active job seekers and passive and are receiving a huge amount of information on a daily basis. So for best results, your message has to stand out enough to make people take notice. In addition, the presentation of their job in a creative way allows companies to display more information about their personalities and organizations, which in turn helps potential candidates an idea of whether culture is probably a good fit.

This year, Campbell Mithun hired by his "Lucky 13" internship program through a process that requires interested parties to apply by submitting 13 tweets over 13 days. Due to its novel use of social media, the campaign won national news media as AdAge.com and Mashable. Even a direct job description can spread like wildfire in social networks, if you write in a way that sparks discussion, as this ad for a Florida newspaper readers are refreshing for its frank and funny . And if you have more resources, you might consider creating a short video, and companies like Facebook have done, to present his material in a more attractive. Morton said that when Gen Y talent search, recruiters can not assume that the candidates to read a page of text, "but you'll see a video."

4. Be open on Back

Search candidates through social channels means you will be asked to share information with you through public possibly means. For the process to work, employers must be willing to share information, and (while, of course, carefully and closely monitor any personal information you may have about their candidates.) Morton said some employers expressed strong resistance to put posts on Twitter, when in fact, the ads in question are on Twitter through unofficial channels anyway. For Campbell Mithun, the capstone of a successful recruitment process of social media-driven was beginning to show people with talent, young expert on the Internet that he has chosen. Kristine Olson, director of corporate communications agency, had a communication strategy in place that was designed precisely to use social media channels to share the results of the campaign, noting that the human resources team "had to be a more open process that allows us to know who we were recruiting. "

Business Collaboration in Social World

Creating a better world requires teamwork, partnerships and collaboration, and we need a whole army of businesses work together to build a better world in the coming decades. This means that companies must take advantage of cooperating with each other. This does not mean that brands should not compete for business or trying to attract more customers. But when a larger goal can be established, companies can benefit from working together to bring innovation and reach more effective solutions. The business world is full of intellectual property and research departments remain the property unnecessarily when they could be helping others to solve problems. There are four ways that companies can try to help.

There are many ways that companies can collaborate.

Offer their intellectual property as open source when it could help other industries.
Share expenses research and development leading to progress beneficial to all.
Co-financing or co-sponsor new ideas of common value.
Co-organizing training seminars and workshops for employees and managers.
co-host events to raise awareness and funds for research or causes.
Combine volunteer activities of employees to generate greater awareness and impact.
Jointly lobby for new legislation to improve efficiency and reduce environmental damage.
social media is, by definition, a huge improvement for collaborative efforts. Give people the space and tools to form virtual communities of practice "focused on shared goals and values, as well as the ability to share technical papers and seminars for the exchange of information and training, among many other benefits.

The momentum of the efforts of corporate collaboration is the construction, and a growing number of websites are tracking trends of cooperation, collaboration and co-creation. CSRwire industry leader, for example, tracks what companies and groups of companies are doing to bring business practices more sustainable and responsible, while international nonprofit serve as the Net Impact to inspire, educate and equip corporate executives and business students to operate in a more socially and environmentally sustainable.

Twitter Marketing

Brands are beginning to establish best practices for communicating with current and potential customers on Facebook. But many of those same brands with big Facebook fan bases have smaller or no Twitter followers at all. With over 300 million user accounts, Twitter has become an important network of businesses to make their communication plans. Here are nine brands that have succeeded in Twitter along with the lessons to take in what they do well and how you can emulate their success.

Do not be afraid to say:I am sorry". Showcase the people and personalities behind your brand.

Bring your brand's personality to life with multimedia. Have fun with your followers.

Authentically engage with celebrities. With much larger following than most brands, celebrities caneasily influence your brand and follower count on Twitter

Everyone loves a good deal. Use contests and offers to drive excitement about your brand.

Twitter is not about you, it is about your audience. Figure out what your audience wants to hear about and tweet it.

Do not take yourself too seriously on twitter. Accelerate the positive comments and embrace the negative ones.

If your customers use your products or service outside of business hours, figure out a way to be responsive on twitter whenever they need help.

Not every brand can be quite as much fun on twitter but we can all learn to lighten up little, ask questions and give away free stuff.

Find twitter chats to join by using hash tags. Consider starting and hosting your own twitter chats on a regular basis.

To Clearspring, the implementation follows recent news of a funding round of $ 20 million, money the company plans to use to continue building tools for publishers. RADF recently told me that, "Now that we have this massive view of what is happening on the Web, we're seeing ... how you take the power of the entire network and onto the individual publisher. Only a handful of companies on the web that have the scope of what we do. "

Asked specifically about the finances of the company (Clearspring has raised a total of $ 60 million), RADF said: "We do not need the money right now ... we're using really and honestly for growth." He added that a public offering starting sometime in the foreseeable future is, "Not for the realm of possibility."

“Twittersphere” Enter the Oxford Dictionary

As of this week, you’ll be able to justify the word “Twittersphere” using the Oxford Dictionaries Online. The word is on a long list of new additions to the dictionary, many of which have origins in technology and social media.

“The world of computers and social networking continues to be a major influence on the English language,” explains the online dictionary’s blog. (The Oxford Dictionary Online is affiliated with the OED, but they are not one and the same. The difference is explained here.) Other newly official words include “social graph,” “permalink,” “paperless,” “lifehack” and “lappy.”

Dictionaries have been acknowledging emerging Internet vocabulary since 2004 or before. That year, “blog” made the top of Merriam Webster’s Word of the Year list. “Facebook” was Collins’s top word three years later, and in 2009, “unfriend” was the Oxford Dictionary’s top pick.

Perhaps “unfollow,” which Oxford also included in its recent online updates, will follow in its Facebook counterpart’s footsteps.

Syria closes Internet

Internet traffic has come to an end in Syria after the government blocked Internet services in an attempt to quell a growing rebellion in the nation in the Middle East.
"From 3:35 UTC today, approximately two thirds of all networks of Syria became unreachable from the global Internet," said Renesys Internet intelligence firm in his blog today.

"Over half an hour, the routes to 40 of 59 networks were withdrawn from the global routing table."

Most mobile phones and Internet networks are affected by the blackout. According to The Wall Street Journal, Web sites run by government, such as the website of the Ministry of Petroleum is still running.

Syria has been the prohibition of social media services in recent months, but this is the full time has been cut all to the Internet.

The decision comes as protests have intensified in the troubled nation. 34 people were killed on Friday after security forces opened fire. The uprising, which began in late January, has focused on the dismissal, Bashar Al-Assad and his role as President of Syria. Al-Assad became president in 2000 after 29-year rule of his father.

Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, close Internet services during the Egyptian revolution protesters were not easy to organize. Do not put down the revolt, however, and on February 11, Mubarak resigned.

U.N. Report Declares Internet Access a Human Right

A United Nations report said on Friday that people disconnect from the internet is a violation of human rights and against international law.

The report criticized France and the United Kingdom, which have passed legislation to eliminate accused copyright infringers on the Internet. They also protested by blocking access to the Internet to quell political unrest.

While blocking and filtering measures to deny users access to specific content on the Internet, the states have also taken steps to cut off Internet access altogether. The Special Rapporteur considers that cut access to Internet users, regardless of the justification provided, including on grounds of violating intellectual property rights, is disproportionate and therefore a violation of Article 19, paragraph 3, of the International Covenant Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

The report continues:

The Special Rapporteur urges all States to ensure that Internet access is maintained at all times, even during times of political turmoil. In particular, the Special Rapporteur urges States to repeal or amend the laws of intellectual copyrights that allow users to disconnect from Internet access, and to refrain from adopting such laws.

The report, prepared by the UN Special Rapporteur on the Promotion and Protection of the Right to Freedom of Opinion and Expression, comes the same day an Internet monitoring company found that two thirds of Internet access in Syria has sharply dark past, in what is likely a government response to the unrest in that country.

Intel's Facebook 'Museum of Me'

Facebook users who want an interesting (and perhaps frightening) the display of their activity in the largest social network in the world can achieve this with the help of Intel's new Museum of the application of me.
When users browse in the Museum of the page at me, you will find a picture and ask them to connect the Facebook service. After no more than a minute of waiting, a video tour takes users through a "visual record of their social life."
"This exhibition is a traveling display that explores what I am", the video says that users start taking the virtual tour of the museum.

As the tour begins, users "walk" through the rooms, showing the profile pictures of friends, photos, videos on their profiles, and more. The "museum" also includes a collection of status updates and other content posted on your wall. Another room displays information from the user's location on a map.
No doubt some will be at the Museum of me and I think it's a little creepy that Intel was able to get that amount of user profile information to put in the program. However, it is worth noting that all the information available at the Museum of me is content that the user has shared with friends on your Facebook profile. In addition, Intel's implementation is not shared publicly.
Intel Museum of me is more than just help users to view their Facebook activity. The service is also a listing of the company's core i5, however, that did not meet until the end of the video of the user.
In general, the Intel Museum to me worth trying at least once. It's a really cool tool that does a good job of collecting all information from her Facebook page and spread out on a fun display.

Bing - A New Streetside View

If you take a look at a map of Bing in street view you will notice today that we have made many changes. These changes represent a significant improvement for desktop browsers, allowing you to quickly pan up and down the street to see the neighborhood and find businesses. We do this by offering panoramic street level so you can take a virtual walk through the streets to historic sites and monuments. As you slide the imagery side street level, the point of view of the sidewalk is perfectly constructed as a superposition of information on companies, names of streets and storefronts. Check it out at a flat, straight from the street, New York, or a winding slope, in San Francisco one.

Why the change? In the past we have examined the images of streets, navigating between the "bubbles" or discrete 360 degree views, and extends to the street was out jumping from bubble to bubble. This works, but makes it difficult for you to get an idea of a larger area like a city block. On the other hand, it is difficult to choose the window further and really only see directly perpendicular to his point of view very clearly.

This new style, meanwhile, maintains the immersive experience, but adds a soft left / right panorama navigation that makes it easy to find what is close faster. The road flows like a series of pictures without any problems at ground level so that now only has to scroll up and down the street to see the area and find what you want.

While you are moving around this new vision can keep track of where you are looking at a map of the streets over the images. Just below the images you will see an overlay of the names of companies and bus stops, reducing clutter and provide a context location.

Want to see what's on the street? Click the "U-Turn" icon next to the street name at the top left of the image. Want to see what was down a cross street? Just click on the name of the street, if there are images of street maps available for that area will turn on him.

Wepay

WePay was founded by Bill Clerico and Rich Aberman in August 2008 following three simple observations:

Collecting money is a struggle for groups of all sizes -- from a group of friends splitting the cost of a ski house to a fraternity collecting membership fees and soliciting donations.
People collecting money have two options: hold shared funds in a personal bank account or go through the trouble of setting up a separate bank account.
Maintaining transparency and sharing account activity information with group members is a challenge.

Since high school, Bill and Rich have been collecting and managing money for various activities, clubs and organizations. Bill was student body president and spent his afternoons slinging tickets to dances, lock-ins, fundraisers and trips. Rich was a traveling member of the debate team, and cofounder of a club dedicated to raising money to build a school in Nicaragua.

When Bill and Rich met at Boston College, they were both heavily involved in a wide range of groups that needed to collect and manage money. Bill was the treasurer of multiple on-campus clubs, and was "that guy" hounding his roommates to pay rent every month. Rich organized a 15-person service trip to Biloxi, Mississippi.

In all of these groups, more time was spent collecting, tracking and managing money than almost anything else.

About a year after graduating, Rich had to plan his brother's bachelor party, while Bill was trying to collect money to rent a ski house. When Rich had to keep a spreadsheet and send out constant reminders, and Bill had to open a separate bank account just to hold the money, they had finally had enough. They decided to build WePay – the easiest way for groups to collect, manage, and spend money.
